Financial Times ranks ESMT Berlin #1 in Germany

ESMT Berlin #1 in Germany
In the Financial Times European Business School Ranking 2019, ESMT Berlin is ranked ninth in Europe and first in Germany, well ahead of all other business schools based in the country.

It is the first time that a business school from Germany has entered the Top 10 in Europe. ESMT performed particularly well in the category of open executive education programs, where it has been ranked fifth. The international business school also received high marks in research performance, international mobility of students, and corporate social responsibility.

ESMT has climbed 15 places from the previous year. It is the first time in seven years that a new institution has broken into Europe’s Top 10. ESMT has been steadily moving up the Financial Times European Business School Ranking since first entering in 2010.

“ESMT was founded with the goal of establishing an international business school in Germany that can compete with the most renowned schools in Europe and worldwide,” says ESMT President Jörg Rocholl. “The ranking shows that we have accomplished this. In the coming year, we plan to expand our leading role in Germany, especially in the area of digital learning.” ESMT is the first internationally accredited business school in Germany to offer a part-time blended MBA program. The program starting in September 2020, will consist of 80 percent online and 20 percent face-to-face content.

The European Business School Ranking is based on the individual Financial Times rankings of full-time MBA, executive MBA, Master’s in Management and executive education programs. Business schools that appear in at least one of the rankings are included in the overall list. ESMT is represented in all categories. Its Master’s in Management program entered the rankings as the second highest new entrant worldwide in October of this year.
