ESMT Berlin and HEC Paris launch next-gen computing program with support of Dieter Schwarz Stiftung

CDL Next-gen computing stream
The Institute for Deep Tech Innovation (DEEP) at ESMT Berlin and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) at HEC Paris are partnering to advance Europe’s technological sovereignty. Supported by the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung, in collaboration with TUM Campus Heilbronn and Campus Founders, they are launching a cutting-edge program focusing on next generation computing within Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), a nonprofit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies.

Next generation computing encompasses advanced technologies, in particular quantum computing. But also on neural network algorithms, neuromorphic computing, biocomputing, and new forms of high-performance computing. It aims to solve complex problems more efficiently and drive innovation. The new CDL stream for next generation computing in Germany and France will focus on:

  • Identifying and recruiting high-potential science-based startups for the program;
  • Providing experienced mentors from their extensive networks to guide and grow the participating deep tech startups;
  • Facilitating access to business students from the two international business schools to support startups with business development tasks

“Innovation in Europe, especially in next generation computing, is crucial for maintaining our technological sovereignty, driving economic growth, and addressing the complex challenges of the future,” says Jörg Rocholl, president of ESMT. “The support of the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung is instrumental in making this collaboration a reality.”

“This strategic collaboration is a significant leap towards amplifying Europe’s innovative potential. By supporting startups in these advanced technologies, we strengthen the connections for scientific innovation in Germany and France and ensure that Europe remains at the forefront of global progress and competitiveness,” says Eloïc Peyrache, director general and dean of HEC Paris.

The CDL Next Gen Computing stream is jointly operated by CDL-Paris and CDL-Berlin, in partnership with HEC Paris, ESMT, and in cooperation with the Technical University Munich Campus in Heilbronn and Campus Founders. More information may be found here.
