Educational leave (Bildungsurlaub)

The German state has recognized the importance of lifelong learning by launching an opportunity for so-called "educational leave" (in German: Bildungsurlaub). During this additional time off work - usually up to five days a year on top of your normal vacation leave - employees are given the opportunity to concentrate exclusively on learning.

ESMT Berlin encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity by taking part in one of our executive education programs. Choose from a wide range of topics, formats (online, blended, face-to-face), and program durations.

Please note that the regulation of educational leave is a federal state matter in Germany. As such there can be differences from state to state. ESMT currently holds educational leave accreditation for employees from the following federal states:

•     Baden-Wuerttemberg

•     Berlin
