CEOs of leading global companies will come together today with academics and politicians at the Annual Forum 2022 at ESMT Berlin to discuss this year’s topic “Sustainable transformation – leading change for business and society.”
For displaced persons from Ukraine, ESMT Berlin is offering partial scholarships for the next intake of its part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program starting in September. Candidates who meet the application requirements may compete for one of three scholarships with a tuition reduction of 50%.
As of June 1, 2022, Merih Sevilir will join the ESMT Berlin faculty as a professor of finance. The new professorship is part of a research collaboration with the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), where Sevilir will be the head of department.
The ESMT Foundation, the majority shareholder in the international business school ESMT Berlin, and the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, agreeing that QIA will support the foundation with a donation and become the first international benefactor of the ESMT Foundation. Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud, CEO, QIA, will join the ESMT International Advisory Council.
Starting in September 2023, ESMT Berlin will offer three new master’s programs: Master in Global Management, Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Master in Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The programs each last 24 months and will be held at ESMT’s campus in Berlin.
With the joint program “BMW Group Fellowships for Ukraine”, the BMW Group and international business school ESMT Berlin are offering up to ten female refugees from Ukraine the opportunity to participate in the ESMT Global Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) at no cost. The English-language MBA program opens up global perspectives and opportunities for action, by strengthening the important, fundamental role that women in management positions play in business and enabling participants to realize their potential, despite having to flee their country.
ESMT Berlin has developed a gender equality plan as part of the EQUAL4EUROPE research project. The plan, which will be implemented by the end of 2025, promotes gender equality among staff in academic careers and administration, as well as among students.
On March 31, 2022, the Klenke Quartett, a renowned string quartet that recently received the Saxon Mozart Prize, will give a charity concert at ESMT Berlin to support humanitarian aid projects in Ukraine.
March 28-29, 2022, the dialogue forum Global Solutions Summit 2022 will take place at ESMT Berlin. Jörg Rocholl, president of ESMT, will lead a panel discussion on quality integration of economic and firm performance indicators. ESMT professor Lars-Hendrik Röller will join a panel on the preparedness and resilience of the global health system.
Allowing citizens to have greater involvement in the early stages of research studies could be the key to providing new, innovative perspectives and furthering high-impact research, according to new findings published in the journal Research Policy.
Linus Dahlander, professor, director of research, and holder of the Lufthansa Group Chair in Innovation at ESMT Berlin, is the winner of the Jan Söderberg Family Prize in Economics and Management of the Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM), endowed with SEK 1 million (around €93,500).
