Katja is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. She obtained her PhD in Economics from ESMT Berlin in 2021. Katja's research interests lie at the intersection of entrepreneurship, financial accounting and finance. She is particularly interested in the role of financial information for the financing of early-stage innovative firms. Katja was a visiting PhD student at Stanford Graduate Business School and Swedish House of Finance.
Prior to the academic career, she served as Financial Services Consultant at PwC, where she audited banks and led several projects on implementation of new bank regulations. In her later appointment as Assistant Manager at KPMG, she consulted publicly listed companies in Germany on accounting issues. Katja also founded a consulting company to advise startup companies on fundraising and valuation issues before starting the PhD program.
