Jens Weinmann

Dr. Jens Weinmann is Program Director at ESMT Berlin and expert for the topics of decision-making and innovation management, with a focus on energy and transport markets.

He co-directs ESMT’s executive education programs “Analytics for Decision-Makers” and "Transformation of the Energy System", teaches in ESMT’s open enrolment programs and degree programs as well as a guest lecturer in international business schools such as ESCP, HEC Paris, London Business School and Saint Paul (Brazil). His corporate clients include Siemens Energy, Deutsche Bank and Allianz.

His research focus lies in the analysis of decision-making in regulation, competition policy, with a special interest in energy and transport, as well as innovation management and digital technologies, in particular Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain/ Distributed Ledger Technologies. His most recent book "Decentralised Energy - a Global Game Changer", co-authored with Christoph Burger, Antony Froggatt and Catherine Mitchell, has been published at Ubiquity Press, London.

Before joining the executive education team of ESMT Berlin, he worked as project manager of the Market Model Electric Mobility, a research project financed by the German environmental ministry (BMU). From 2007 to 2009, he was manager at the economic consultancy ESMT Competition Analysis (now e.ca economics).

Jens graduated in energy engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) at the Technical University Berlin and received his PhD in Decision Sciences from London Business School. His academic experience includes fellowships at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and the Florence School of Regulation, European University Institute.
