SyntAIgration: Thinking Beyond Cyber

18 – 20 October 2023 | ESMT Berlin
Rethinking the fundamentals of our digital ecosystems

The SyntAIgration project

Can we steer a digital revolution that harnesses technology for societal progress, fostering equality and prosperity instead of exacerbating disparities, vulnerabilities and geopolitical tensions?

The SyntAIgration project brings together a global community of cyber thought leaders, technologists, and policymakers to find answers to some of the most important questions of our time:

How can we...

shape the current technological disruption

anticipate future developments and best

collaborate to adapt as a society and

achieve a zero-exclusion world worth

living for everyone?

The select group of participants will engage in exploration, debate, discussion, and formulation of practical measures to strengthen digital trust in the coming years. SyntAIgration: Thinking Beyond Cyber will prioritize the development of a forward-looking perspective that encompasses the implications of technological disruption, geopolitics, industrial advancement, and the progression of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and quantum computing. The overarching goal is to ensure that technology serves societal and economic progress in a manner that fosters trust and reliability.

Steve Jobs Quote

As we navigate this new world of disruptive change, it's crucial that we address the systemic risks and security implications of the digital revolution. We cannot afford to be complacent or ignore the risks that come with this new era.

Rather than focusing on fear and uncertainty, we want to embrace hope and optimism for the future. Let us discuss innovative solutions and work towards a safe, equitable, and prosperous future for all.

How does SyntAIgration work?

To execute actionable solutions in the shortest time, the convening protocol is used.

What is special about this convening protocol?

The Malik Syntegration® is a method to find optimal solutions for complex problems in only 2 days.

The process works by involving all relevant key stakeholders, facilitating consensus forming, and aligning action forces behind the co-created joint solutions.

  • SyntAIgration as a collective brain:

Participants work as one interconnected collective brain answering a key opening question. Interconnected topics and action-oriented discussions based on a mathematically optimized communication architecture.

  • Algorithmic participant matching and AI support for highest quality discussions:

Algorithmic matching of participants, emerging patterns using AI, and in-group and between-group communication facilitated by AI.

  • Result:

Actionable and aligned solutions, thanks to the optimized co-creation.

Your impact is key - from the beginning till the end!

Preliminary schedule - subject to change.

The agenda is designed to foster high-quality discussions and bring cross-pollination through a design optimized for maximal information diffusion across expert panels.

  • Participants contribute actively to working groups, as team members and/or as critics.

  • They contribute also passively as learners and connectors in a silent observer role.

Diligently curated evening programs are prepared for syntegration participants to network in relaxed and private settings.

Benefits for project participants

Format: Gathering of global tech thought leaders, influencers and AI experts interested in the greater good

Community: A group of diverse individuals connected by their common concern for findings solutions to our most urgent challenges

Method: Bringing together a global community of experts for 2 days using the Syntegration method to find optimal solutions to complex problems and reach a common, actionable consensus.

  • The term "Syntegration" is a combination of "synergy" and "integration", which represents an innovative system-technological

procedure for working in groups of experts to implement innovative Big Change in

organizations. Syntegration stands for the new communication and cooperation needed for catalyzing innovation and collaborating synergistically.
  • Starting from the opening question "How can we shape the current technological disruption, anticipate future developments and best collaborate to adapt as a society to achieve a zero-exclusion world worth living for everyone?", the participants are rotating between different teams and will play different roles within the topical working groups, so that all participants will have a chance to analyze each of the 6-12 topics simultaneously.
  • By encouraging all participants of the project to contribute to all individual workstreams, the Syntegration method helps harness the implicit knowledge of the group and facilitates disseminating the collective knowledge. Participants are nudged to leave their comfort zone and engage with their peers, offering an excellent networking experience that crosses the boundaries of sectors, disciplines and perspectives.
