Ann-Kristin Achleitner also holds a distinguished affiliate professorship at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where she has been scientific co-director of the Center for Entrepreneurial and Financial Studies since 2003. Between 2001 and 2020, she was chair of entrepreneurial finance at TUM, following her tenure as chaired professor for banking and finance at the European Business School (EBS). Her extensive academic background is complemented by practical experience at McKinsey & Company. Ann-Kristin Achleitner has served as an advisor to various EU and government commissions. She is currently a member of the Future Council of the German federal chancellor and a vice-president of acatech β National Academy of Science and Engineering.
