ESMT Berlin will participate in the European Heritage Days 2024, a cultural initiative celebrated across Europe. On September 8, ESMT will open its doors to the interested public, offering a rare glimpse into the historical and architectural significance of its campus, the former Staatsratsgebäude of the GDR.

Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., visitors will have the chance to join exclusive guided tours that delve into this iconic building's rich history and unique features. As part of the tours, guests will explore key areas, including the former office of Erich Honecker, and learn about the building's transformation from a seat of power in the former GDR to a modern hub for global business education.

The event aligns with ESMT’s commitment to fostering cultural engagement and preserving historical heritage. By taking part in European Heritage Days, ESMT not only honors the architectural legacy of its campus but also contributes to the broader dialogue on the importance of heritage conservation in contemporary society.

The European Heritage Days, initiated by the Council of Europe, are celebrated across 50 countries, and aim to promote access to cultural heritage sites. In Germany, this initiative is known as “Tag des offenen Denkmals” and is coordinated by the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz. ESMT Berlin’s involvement reflects its dedication to bridging historical significance with modern innovation.

Registration for the event is encouraged to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees.
