ESMT Berlin has received institutional reaccreditation from the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) for a further 10 years without any conditions. The council confirmed the international business school’s right to award PhDs and also sees no need for ESMT to be accredited again. The decision was based on the business school’s exceptional academic performance and its globally recognized excellence in research and teaching.

The reaccreditation was awarded after an intensive examination of the university’s teaching and research capacities, as well as its resources and institutional framework, thus confirming that it meets the highest academic standards in teaching and research. ESMT is continuously committed to making a significant contribution to the scientific community and society through innovative research projects and transformative educational programs.

Jörg Rocholl, president of ESMT says, “This reaccreditation reaffirms our excellence in research and teaching, which in turn enables us to attract outstanding students and professors from all over the world. As a leading business school in Europe, we will continue to combine academic excellence with practical relevance.”

The key findings of the Report of the Wissenschaftsrat on the Reaccreditation of ESMT Berlin illustrate the business school’s continued development and commitment to consolidating and further expanding its position as a leading educational and research institution in Europe. ESMT is characterized by a strong international network and targeted research collaborations, positioning it as a globally engaged business school. It also attaches great importance to its three interdisciplinary core areas of leadership, innovation, and analytics, which give it an international and competitive academic profile. Particular attention is paid to the promotion of equality and diversity, including the appointment of a diversity, equity, and inclusion manager. ESMT is dedicated to upholding rigorous academic standards and aims to enhance its teaching and research capabilities by expanding its faculty, advancing its degree programs, and enriching its executive education offerings.
