Bedre-Defolie is the lead on the DIPVAR project. She is an associate professor of economics (with tenure) at ESMT Berlin and a CEPR research affiliate. Her research focuses on the contracts and pricing strategies of digital platforms, pricing, and variety choices of multiproduct firms; demand estimation in the payment card industry; and vertical relationships in business.

Lefez is a postdoctoral researcher on the DIPVAR project. He holds a PhD in economics from the Toulouse School of Economics. His research interests are in applied microeconomic theory, industrial organization, and digital economics.

Simon Anderson

Commonwealth Professor of Economics, University of Virginia

Anderson is a co-author on the DIPVAR project. He is a commonwealth (chaired) professor of economics at the University of Virginia. He is an established and distinguished researcher in the field of industrial organization, and his other research interests include advertising, search and information, price dispersion, and media economics.

Gary Biglaiser

Professor of Economics, University of North Carolina

Biglaiser is a co-author on the DIPVAR project. He is a full professor of economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and associate editor of RAND Journal of Economics. He has wide-ranging research interests in applied microeconomic theory with a concentration on industrial organization and regulation. His most recent research is focused on durable goods monopoly, Moonlighting, and dynamic oligopoly.
