cybercrime
From May 10-11, 2021, the Cybercrime Conference C³ will take place at ESMT Berlin, organized by the German Federal Criminal Police Office together with ESMT’s Digital Society Institute (DSI) under the umbrella “European Strategies against a Global Challenge.”

For two days, national and international experts from the fields of IT security, politics, business, and science will present and discuss new findings and possible approaches to the topic of cybercrime. This year's C³ conference will focus in particular on European strategies to combat cybercrime.

Speakers include Dr. Markus Richter, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community, Martina Link, Vice President of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Dr. Barbara Slowik, Berlin Police President, Thomas Sepp, Member of the Board of Management at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE, and Martin Schallbruch, Director at Digital Society Institute. In addition to interesting keynotes on the current situation and state of cybercrime, there will be various rounds of talks on new technologies and tools. In various presentations, speakers will provide insights into how cybercrime is perceived internationally, in the corporate environment, and in national security agencies.

Cybercrime includes crimes in which, for example, computer systems are manipulated or damaged or personal data is illegally tapped or used for criminal acts. In our digitally networked world, cybercrime has therefore become one of the most dynamically changing phenomena. Combating this form of crime requires new strategies founded on European and international cooperation.

The Cybercrime Conference C³ will take place on Monday, May 10, 1:00-6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 11, 9:00-1:00 p.m. (simultaneously in German and English). The safety of our speakers and all participants is our highest priority. Therefore, this year’s conference will take place virtually for an expert audience.

Interested press representatives can watch the press conference and presentation of the Federal Situation Report on Cybercrime, which will take place on Monday, May 10, 2:00-2:45 p.m., here.
