The Climate Governance Initiative Germany equips supervisory board members with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate climate and sustainability into corporate decision-making. The initiative highlights the central role of supervisory boards in strengthening long-term resilience and guiding companies through sustainability challenges. It is part of the global Chapter Zero Alliance founded by the World Economic Forum.
The initiative creates trusted spaces for exchange and peer learning among supervisory board members. Through roundtables, virtual dialogues, and events, boards discuss practical approaches, share experiences, and learn how others address climate and sustainability in governance and strategy.
ESMT Berlin contributes through peer learning formats and research-based education. The ESMT Institute for Sustainable Transformation offers tailored programs on sustainability, climate governance, and ESG oversight. These programs help supervisory board members understand global sustainability challenges, regulatory developments, and their role in guiding companies through the transition toward resilient and sustainable business models.
