- Fundiertes Verständnis für Unternehmen aufbauen: Lernen Sie, wie Unternehmen funktionieren, um Chancen zu erkennen, Annahmen zu hinterfragen und nachhaltigen Mehrwert zu schaffen.
- Praxis anwenden: Setzen Sie Ihr Wissen direkt um – z. B. im Sustainability Bootcamp, Summer Entrepreneurship Program (SEP), DEEP Tech Innovation Program, NEXT Accelerator Program, Social Impact Project und Corporate Innovation Project (CIP).
- Individuelles Lernen gestalten: Wählen Sie aus über 35 Wahlfächern in den Bereichen Innovation, KI und Datenvisualisierung sowie optional dem Finance and Investment Certificate oder einem Auslandssemester an über 20 Partnerhochschulen.

Am I a “good fit” for the MIE?
ESMT’s Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship has a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning and experimentation.
The qualities we are looking for in our applicants are:

- Keen sense for identifying and acting on opportunities
- Willingness to collaborate and effectively communicate
- Natural leader
What are the MIE application requirements?
- A Bachelor's degree
- Proof of English proficiency (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) or graduating from a university program taught in English
- Completed application, including essays and one recommendation
- Ideally, applicants to the MIE program will have between 0-3 years of post-graduate work experience. Applicants with up to five years of post-graduate work experience will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis, following assessment and alignment of their academic and professional goals to the respective program.

What kind of scholarships are available for MIE applicants?
Scholarships are offered to accepted students with outstanding academic merit and leadership potential. To apply for a scholarship, you should complete the proper essay included in the online application form and indicate your suitability for a scholarship.
The scholarships offered in ESMT cover partial tuition fees. Most of our students cover the costs of their studies with a mix of scholarships, loans, and personal savings.

Does ESMT Berlin offer on-campus housing?
ESMT offers student accommodation in 7 shared flats near campus, just a 10-min walk away.
Full-time ESMT students can apply for single or double rooms in the shared flats – each fully furnished and equipped with WIFI. For more information on ESMT student accommodation, click here.
As there are limited rooms available, please also consider other housing options.
What should I consider before moving to Berlin?
Visas
All non-EU/non-EEA nationals staying in Germany are typically required to obtain a visa before entering the country, if they intend to stay for more than 90 days to work or study.
Issuing a German student visa might take up to 6 months. Though the process is often quicker, we advise all admitted students to reach the embassies in their countries as early as possible.
APS
The APS Certificate is mandatory for students holding bachelor or Master degrees from China (Mainland), India, Mongolia and Vietnam who are interested in studying in Germany. Before applying for a visa, you have to hand in your academic certificates and documents to the APS office in your respective country. This procedure might take time. We would recommend booking an appointment as soon as possible.

Residence permit
After entering Germany for study purposes, students are required to register as a resident at their new address with the local registration office (Bürgeramt) and apply for a residence permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis/Aufenthaltstitel) at the local immigration authority (Ausländerbehörde/Landesamt für Einwanderung). This document is the permit that allows non-EU or non-EEA nationals to live and study in Berlin for the duration of the program.
Upon receiving a valid residence permit in Germany, you may travel to another country within the Schengen zone, visa-free, using a valid passport for up to 90 days per six-month period.

Als Vollzeitstudierende:r des Master in Innovation & Entrepreneurship werden Sie am Campus der ESMT Berlin studieren, der in einem historischen Gebäude im Herzen der deutschen Start-up-Hauptstadt untergebracht ist. Auf dem Campus knüpfen Sie Kontakte zu Kommiliton:innen aus verschiedenen Programmen – durch Clubs, Projekte und Veranstaltungen, die neue Ideen und Kooperationen anregen.
