The four musicians of the Klenke Quartett Beate Hartmann, Ruth Kaltenhäuser, Annegret Klenke, and Yvonne Uhlemann will perform the concert in the auditorium maximum, once the ballroom of the GDR state council building, now the campus of ESMT. Under Günter Brendel's frieze “Life in the GDR,” the four musicians, who themselves grew up in East Germany, will perform Mozart’s famous Clarinet Quintet, together with Nicola Jürgensen, Haydn’s String Quartet op. 77/1 in G major, and works by Erwin Schulhoff.

The program:

  • Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942)
  • Five Pieces for String Quartet (1923)
  • Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)
  • String quartet in G major op. 77/1
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
  • Clarinet quintet in A major KV 581

After the concert, the audience is invited to a reception and a meeting with the musicians.

Admission is free of charge. A donation to the Friends of ESMT (Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der ESMT e.V.), would be greatly appreciated. These donations will be used to support humanitarian aid projects in Ukraine. Please contact the association by following this link.

The concert will take place on March 31, 2022, at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) at ESMT Berlin, Schlossplatz 1, 10178 Berlin. Those interested may register to attend on-campus via the registration link or watch the concert via the online livestream
