“Building Common Ground” - Berlin Global Dialogue announces the theme of its second summit

After a successful launch last year, the second Berlin Global Dialogue will take place October 1-2, 2024, at ESMT Berlin. Founded by Lars-Hendrik Röller, former chief economic advisor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Berlin Global Dialogue unites leaders from business, government, and academia to develop joint solutions for the world’s most pressing issues. Under the theme “Building Common Ground,” this year’s summit invites global leaders to find new ways to cooperate amidst volatility and fragmentation.

After successfully launching in 2023, the second Berlin Global Dialogue will take place October 1-2 this year at the ESMT campus in the heart of Berlin. With the theme “Building Common Ground,” the 2024 Berlin Global Dialogue explores how the international community can continue cooperating in times of increased fragmentation, misinformation, and distrust.

“The global challenges we are witnessing urgently require new coalitions, partnerships, and institutions. We need to focus on areas where cooperation is still possible—rather than not cooperating at all. At Berlin Global Dialogue, we are building a platform to do so,” says Lars-Hendrik Röller, founder and chair of Berlin Global Dialogue.

The inaugural Berlin Global Dialogue united more than 550 participants from 60 countries to discuss the biggest transitions impacting the global economy, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, and President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Bank of America is once again the principal partner of Berlin Global Dialogue. “Last year’s summit demonstrated the critical value of engaging divergent and new global voices to discuss the key issues which will affect our collective future. Berlin Global Dialogue is a highly constructive, ongoing conversation that can lead to positive outcomes and is needed now, more than ever,” commented Bernard Mensah, president of international at Bank of America.

Bank of America is one of the global corporations that have partnered with Berlin Global Dialogue. “We are proud that so many leading companies are supporting our approach, and we look forward to gathering many new and existing members of our Berlin Global Dialogue community in Berlin this fall,” says Lars-Hendrik Röller.

Further details about the program and speakers for this year’s summit will be announced soon.
