Affiliate Professor at ESMT, Berlin. Lead of the EQUAL4EUROPE project at ESMT.
Originally educated as a psychologist and historian, she received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Melbourne, in Australia. She has worked on gender issues for the last 20 years, as a researcher, lecturer and consultant.
Her research has focused on women’s experiences as victims of crime and their involvement as offenders. Recent topics have centered on sexual violence among students and staff in higher education institutions, intimate partner violence, alcohol-related crime in night-time leisure zones and programs for women in prison. Current interests are policies, procedures and practices that increase gender equality and prevent gender-based violence.
